Social Web

The experiences I’ve had on the social web have definitely increased over the years as sites like Myspace and Facebook have become more and more prominent. It’s actually funny how reliable of an outlet facebook is to get into contact with someone. My friends go on Facebook I want to estimate…about one or twice every couple hours.

A new kind of development has been occurring though with parents getting Facebooks. (At least this is what I’ve been hearing) Parents have been adding their kids as friends and this seems to urk quite a few people for obvious reasons. This is where the wonderful features of Facebook come into play with the ability to choose who sees what.

My experience with Twitter however is only beginning. There have been numerous seminars at the Tribune about how Twitter can be very useful for journalists…but eh I don’t know. I just think if you have a Facebook…then why Tweet? I guess it will just have to act as another social networking tool to become addicted to.

My experience with social networking tools though has really enabled me to network as a freelancer and to keep in touch with friends at different schools. It’s amazing how one site can bring millions of people together.
