The Impact of the Internet

I would say the Internet has made my life A LOT easier over the years. It’s a gateway to basically everything you can think of.

Instead of slaving away at the library and spending hours finding a variety of books for a paper or article, everything I need is at my fingertips. I owe many thanks to the Internet as I have saved so much time and effort doing assignments with such a great tool. Have a question that needs an immediate answer? The average person would most likely say “Google it” and poof…your question will be answered with an array of results.

However there IS a downfall to the Internet. While it has saved a lot of time, it has also sucked up a lot of it as well. For instance, Youtube is a blackhole that easily sucks you in to hours of entertainment and of course Facebook. I don’t think I ever go on the Internet without checking it at least once.

Reflecting on my life and using the Internet so much…I kind of wonder how I would function without it. It’s made my attention span shorter over time and has made me borderline impatient. I’m not too sure that’s such a good thing…but the Internet has definitely impacted my life in a very positive light overall. Sure it there’s a lot of crap out there but if you know how to use the web to your advantage it will serve you well. Anything that saves me time to do something else that I need to do is well appreciated.

Thank you for existing Internet.
